SnehBandh is committed to being a safe place for everyone. We want to help you make smart decisions — online and offline — when connecting with other members.

Please read these tips carefully. While we work hard to maintain a trustworthy community, your personal safety ultimately depends on the precautions you take.

Never share sensitive personal information with someone you just met — this includes your home address, workplace address, daily routine, financial details, bank account numbers, UPI IDs, or government ID numbers (Aadhaar, PAN).

Be cautious of anyone who quickly tries to move the conversation off SnehBandh to WhatsApp, Telegram, or another platform before you have built any real trust.

Be suspicious of profiles that seem too perfect, have very few photos, or provide vague answers about who they are and where they live.

SnehBandh will never ask you for money or your banking details. Any message asking for financial information is a scam — report it immediately.

Do not click on links sent to you by other members until you are confident they are trustworthy.

If someone claims to be in an emergency and needs money, this is a common romance scam tactic. Do not send money to anyone you have not met in person and known for a significant period of time.

Always meet for the first time in a well-lit, busy public place — a café, restaurant, or shopping mall. Never agree to meet at someone's home or a private location for a first meeting.

Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and what time you expect to return. Share the person's name and profile with them.

Arrange your own transport to and from the meeting. Do not rely on your date for a ride, especially for the first meeting.

Keep your phone fully charged and stay in a place where you have good mobile signal.

Do not leave your food or drink unattended, and do not accept drinks you did not see poured.

Trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, it is perfectly okay to leave. Your safety is more important than being polite.

Avoid alcohol or substances on a first meeting so you can remain alert and make clear decisions.

Romance scams happen when someone builds a false emotional connection in order to eventually ask for money. Common warning signs:

They claim to work abroad (military, merchant navy, oil rig, or international business) and cannot meet in person.

They profess very strong feelings unusually quickly.

They have an emergency — medical, travel, legal — and need money urgently.

They ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency instead of normal bank transfers.

They are always available to chat but consistently have excuses when you suggest a video call.

If you think you have encountered a romance scammer, stop all contact, do not send money, and report the profile immediately. You can also report online fraud to the National Cyber Crime portal at cybercrime.gov.in.

Use the Report button on any profile or message to flag behaviour that makes you uncomfortable or that you believe violates our guidelines.

Use the Block feature to stop all contact from a member immediately.

All reports are reviewed by our safety team. We take action within 72 hours, and serious cases are handled within 24 hours.
